A major airline announced that it will be pulling the flights it has been providing out of a local airport. Its last flights from Burbank's Bob Hope Airport will be on February 9th. The airline has stated that the decision to pull the two to three daily flights that it has been flying out of the midsize airport occurred previous to its bankruptcy filing. A representative for the company explained that having a location offering flights so close to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) was just not economically sound. The airport is concerned about the ripple-effect that could be created on revenue for the location as well as the impact it may have on jobs. If you need help with matters concerning a bankruptcy in Burbank, Glendale, Van Nuys, Northridge, Encino, Chatsworth or surrounding areas, a Los Angeles bankruptcy lawyer may be able to help.
Hoping for the Best in Tough Economic Times
While declined passenger traffic has definitely had its impact on the airport, managing officials are hopeful that the airline's discontinued use of the location can be swiftly mitigated. A number of options are open including obtaining flight services by another airline to replace those that had been offered by the major carrier that has now filed for bankruptcy protection.
